Now this is an incredibly important feature that I don't see used that often. Detecting a user's browser via PHP is so simple but not used as often as say a JavaScript implementation is used. The reason for this is because if we're using JavaScript to do this we're basically doing it in real-time as opposed to the back-end. We can't really modify a user's browser based on a condition we've come across in PHP; well we can but we'd have to use Ajax and there would be a small delay. I think this way is the most useful for tracking; for modifications, go ahead and use JavaScript.
